Alcohol facts and hypnosis scripts ; Knowing what you are up against is the first step

Alcohol Facts and Hypnosis scripts, which can be found below.

Alcoholic beverages date back to 3000 B.C., but not until about 800 B.C. was the distillation process applied to fermented beverages, making possible the preparation of the highly potent liquors that are available today. Alcohol abuse is a direct consequence this advancement.

In North America in 2003, alcohol abuse was reported by 6.8 percent of the population aged 12 or older, or 17.1 million people.

These figures are similar to those of 2002, when 6.7 percent (15.9 million people) reported heavy drinking.

Heavy drinking is defined as five or more drinks on the same occasion on at least 5 different days in the past 30 days.

45% of females ages 12 or older report current (past month) use;

8% are binge drinkers (defined as 5 or more drinks on the same occasion at least once in the past month);

and 2% drink heavily (5 or more drinks on the same occasion on at least 5 different days in the past month) (US Department of Health & Human Services {DHHS}, Office of Applied Studies, National Household survey on drug Abuse: Main findings, 1997,pp.106 110-111).

Current use of alcohol is highest among women ages 26 to 34; binge and heavy drinking are highest among 18- to 25-year-olds (Ibid).

Compared with men, women with drinking problems also are at increased risk for depression, low self-esteem, alcohol-related physical problems, marital discord or divorce,.... a history of sexual abuse, and drinking in response to life crises (M McCaul & J Furst, "Alcoholism Treatment in the United States," AHRW, Vol. 18, No. 4, 1994, p. 257).

The suicide rate of alcoholics, especially women, is much higher than that of the general population. A third of all suicides have over drinking as a contributing cause.

Alcoholism, weight loss and smoking are some of the most difficult issues to treat, because in all of them there are complicated unconscious root causes for the behaviours. Yes it is possible, and people do stop drinking, loss weight, and stop smoking, but it is the staying stopped that is the most challenging. The temptations to return to over drinking can be many and varied.

If you have decided that you have finally had enough below are a series of free scripts that can be utilized to help you become an ex-drinker.

These scripts are to be used in conjunction with whatever other treatments you are doing and they are not meant as a stand alone.
