Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders and Hypnosis

You may know someone who is often suffering from stomach problems, specifically functional gastrointestinal disorders. They may become bloated for no apparent reason or suffer from constant constipation.

For others, no matter what they put in their mouth, it often comes out the other end before they finish their meal.

For some if they are lucky enough to finish, they end up hunching over in pain, because the meal is not sitting right inside their stomach.

Many individuals have visited doctor after doctor, gone to see dietitians, pain specialists or gastrointestinal experts.

Yet time after time their symptoms remain, because these health care professionals don’t know exactly what is wrong with them.

The word “functional” has become the traditional vernacular to describe symptoms or problems when these health care professional can find no structural abnormalities.

That leaves only tangled bowels of the affected organs, where things don’t work or feel quite right. Treatments for these gastrointestinal disorders range from fiber for those that are constipated, which is to be avoided if you have bloating, to antidepressants for abdominal pain.

Vitamins, nutritional supplements, and balanced diets are also recommended for any one suffering from gastrointestinal issues.

Hypnosis is a good alternative, and can help. Below see free self hypnosis gastrointestinal disorder scripts below.

Symptoms of these bowel disorders can occur anywhere in the gastrointestinal system. The gastrointestinal disorders include abdominal pain syndrome, constipation, diarrhea, functional dyspepsia (abdominal bloating), and Irritable bowel syndrome.

Functional abdominal pain syndrome(FAPS).

If you fall into this category with functional abdominal pain syndrome (FAPS) you feel pain in the abdomen. You know that the pain can be severe, and become the main focus of your life, usually getting in the way of your daily activities. Your pain is often recurrent or continuous and may not be related to eating or to having a bowel movement.

Functional constipation.

People with this gastrointestinal disorder have continual indications of difficult, infrequent bowel movements, sometimes with a sensation of incomplete emptying after having a bowel movement.

Travaling time, which is the time that it takes feces to move through the bowels and be eliminated as stool, may be longer than normal in these people.

Functional Diarrhea.

Most of us have had diarrhea at least once in our lives so we know what it is. For those who have been fortunate enough to have avoided that experience functional diarrhea is everyday or urgent passage of loose or watery stool (bowel movements). The diarrhea is usually chronic, meaning it can happen on a regular basis over months if not years.

Functional Dyspepsia.

If you suffer from bloating you will have a feeling of stomach fullness. It is known that individuals that fall into this group often report that their abdomen is relatively flat in the morning, but becomes swollen as the day continues. The bloating tends to lessen after lying down or overnight.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

People with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) may also have lower abdominal pain or discomfort; it is usually related to bowel problems such as diarrhea and/or constipation, gas, bloating, and nausea.

The problem appears to occur mainly in the bowel, which is also called the large intestine, and is the part of the digestive system that makes and stores stool.

Hypnosis and relaxation techniques can help to focus attention away from the pain and discomfort associated with many of these gastrointestinal disorders, but as with any practice it takes your active participation.
