Does Glutathione have effects in menstruation / or delay menstruation?

by Arlene
(Philippines)

I am taking L-Glutathione (500mg) and Vitamin C (1000mg) for 2 months now. On the 2nd month, i missed my period ( menstruation . Havent miss my period eversince.Does Glutathione have anything to do about his?

Answer:

Glutathione is the master antioxidant, and we are born with plenty of it to maintain proper bodily functions. Every other antioxidant including Vitamin C depends on its supply. As such young people have very strong immune systems and recover from many diseases faster than adults.

When you introduce glutathione to the body as an adult, you are then increasing the body’s supply of this master antioxidant. This is of course very beneficial to the adult body. As a result, the adult body will react to the increased supply in many ways.

For example, for years I suffered from bronchitis and had very bad flu at least twice a year. I went to see every type of doctor, and took antibiotics for years, but every year I would still suffer from these problems.

When I first took Immunocal/glutathione the only form of glutathione I have taken, I caught a bad flu within the first 3 months. I also found that I wanted to sleep a lot and my sleeps were much deeper. I was told that because this is a natural product, it will take at least 6 months to boost my immune system.

I have not had bronchitis, flu or a cold since continuing to take Immunocal. I have been taking it for 3 years now. People around me get sick, and I do not catch their illness.

Therefore, yes based on the information you have given me, it might have been the glutathione that affected your menstruation. It may have adjusted your bodily functions to reflect the increased supply to the body.

However, I must add that I am only familiar with the Immunocal brand of glutathione. Glutathione has no known side effects, but because it is a natural product the body must adjust to it. .
