Olympics 2008 preparation is now at an end, and now the games are over. One of the most stressful parts of an athlete’s career is training to qualify for the Olympic games, it is like trying to make it into law or medical school, but the memories are much better.

During the Los Angeles, 84 Olympics I remember having lunch in one of the many athletes dining areas, and as I looked up I saw Lionel Richie (father of Nicole Richie) walk by on his way to perform for us athletes.
I jumped up, and ran out to take a photo with him.
There are many such encounters, so an athlete has to remain focused.
In addition to the events occurring in the village, an athlete often sees their competition for several days, or weeks before they compete.
Famous Olympic athletes are everywhere, some will be your competition, and everyone wants to get their autograph.
You will soon have to compete against them and that can be a very intimidating and stressful feeling.
