What is the immune system?

Let’s explore what is the immune system. Your immune system protects you from invaders like the common cold and flu viruses. If you never get colds and flu’s you know that you have a very strong immune system or you might simply not be around people to get those viruses.

The Subconscious and the immune system.

The job of your immune system is to defend the body and keep it health. If you have visited my site before, you know that I believe strongly in the subconscious part of the body.

It will work in your best interest to keep you alive even if you don’t or are unaware of its role in your life. The subconscious mind or body’s prime motivation is to have you survive and evolve into the next generation. This is an evolving universe.

White blood cells the body’s great wall of China.

The immune system uses a series of cells, tissues and organs to protect the body from anything that poses a treats to its survival.

Some of the most important cells are the white blood cells called leukocytes, and it is their job to travel throughout the body to seek out and destroy invaders.

The white blood cells act as a floating and constantly moving wall making it difficult for invaders to penetrate the city, which houses the vulnerable lungs, heart and other organs.

The soldiers that defend the wall are the T and B cells.

The leukocytes are of 2 kinds. The first is called phagocytes and the second is called lymphocytes. The phagocytes ingest and destroy any invaders they find.

The lymphocytes, which are called B and T cells, tag the invaders with a memory chip, actually an antibody, but it acts like a memory trigger for the body.

However, once tagged the lymphocytes never forgets that invader, and it will be immediately destroyed if it tries to enter the body again.

All invaders have their own specific memory chip or antibody that gets produced by the B lymphocytes or B cells. It is the B cells job to find the invader and make a special and unique antibody or memory chip for it.

After the B cell has done its job, these memory chips remain in the body ready to alert the T cells when the same invader comes back.

It is then the role of the T cell to keep a look out for any memory chips or antibodies that tries to harm the body. When the memory chip or antibody sounds the alert to the body that the invader is back the powerful and ruthless T cells goes on the attack. The T cells destroy the invader.

I hope I have helped to clarify what is the immune system, however the immune system is very complex, and the lymphocytes and other tissues and organs play many other roles to help protect the body and keep it strong.
